Forgeries. On the aesthetics of photographic errors 1992.
Reproduction works 1992. Edited picture citations from technical literature. 16 Color prints formatted approximately 40 x 30cm, Portfolio 50 x 40 cm. The work cites the publication of images processed with photographic errors from technical literature, improperly treating the conventional B/W photographic material. However, the original images are viewed here with opposing implications: The mistakes are recognized as assets and become a source of innovative image creation. The results don’t give the effect of being flawed, but rather appear within the development of current, contemporary aesthetic photography processes. Technical terms are of special importance here. They are formally included in a presentation, forming surprising associations that lead to the re-evaluation of the photographs.
